Acetin contains the active ingredient Acetylcysteine which is a pharmacological agent used mainly as a mucolytic agent.

 

Indications: Acetin works in the lungs on thin mucous making breathing easier. It is is effective against thick mucous secretions in chronic emphysema, bronchitis, sinusitis, rhinitis. It is also used as an anti oxidant during Paracetamol over dose and other metals.

 

Side effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, allergic reaction.

 

Dosage: For adults and children more than 14 years, daily dosage of 400 – 600 mg.

                 Children from 6 to 14 years – daily dosage of 200 mg 2 times or 100 mg 4 times

                 Children from 2 to 6 years, daily dosage of 200 – 300 mg or 100 mg 2- 3 times.
