Mebsyn Retard
Mebsyn Retard contains Mebeverine Hydrochloride which is a musculotropic antispasmodic drug without atropic side-effects whose major therapeutic role is in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome. Mebysn Retard is also indicated for treatment of gastrointestinal spasm secondary to organic disorder and acts by relaxing the muscles and helping to restore the normal movement of the gut.
How does Mebeverine work?
Mebeverine is used to relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and related intestinal disorders that are the result of spasms in the intestinal muscles. These include abdominal pain and cramps, diarrhea alternating with constipation and flatulence
Indications: Mebeverine is primarily indicated in conditions like Adjunct in GI-disorders, chronic irritable colon, Gastrointestinal spasm, GIT spasm, Irritable bowel syndrome, Mucous colitis, Spastic colon, Spastic constipation.
Side Effects: Generally Mebeverine is well tolerated. However, few side-effects like skin rash, urticaria and angioedema may appear.
Dosage: Adults and children from 10 years - 1 capsule of Mebsyn Retard 2 times a day. Mebsyn Retard is recommended after meals and with plenty of water. When the symptoms have improved, usually after several weeks, the dose can be gradually reduced.
