Ciprom contains Ciprofloxacin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It belongs to a group called fluoroquinolone.

 

Indications: Ciprofloxacin is effective against lower respiratory tract infections (such as pneumonia and acute bronchitis), urinary tract infections, several STDs, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia and anthrax.

 

Side Effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, headache, and restlessness. Rare allergic reactions have been described, such as hives and anaphylaxis (shock). Ciprofloxacin should be used with caution in patients with central nervous system.

 

Dosage: The recommended oral dose for adults is 250-750 mg every 12 hours or 500-1000 mg every 24 hours.
